Win the War Against Waste

Mission Starts Here graphic Win the War Against Waste graphic Your Mission Starts Here to "Win the War Against Waste," a continuing Air Force environmental initiative aimed at reducing solid waste. The "Win the War Against Waste" campaign encourages each of us to do our best to recycle and divert waste from landfills, which facilitates the Air Force's sustainability mission. The theme for this new edition of the campaign is "The Mission Starts Here!" The new campaign materials will invigorate our Airmen, along with their families, civilians, and contractors to join together in making our Air Force's recycling efforts as successful as possible.

New public service announcements, posters, banners, awareness articles and magnets for this important effort to recycle, reuse and reduce are available to promote your recycling efforts. These templates are helpful time and resource saving tools and can be printed and distributed throughout bases.

Four digital PSA videos, which are appropriate for all ages, are provided and are ready for use on Air Force websites and the Armed Forces Network. With minimal effort, the posters, sticker and magnet templates can be customized to include contact information for each base's solid waste/recycling point of contact and printed for use in "America Recycles Day" celebrations and other recycling programs. Large banners can be placed at the main gate, and other appropriate locations throughout your base. The vertical-style banner can be used as a backdrop panel for conference booths and event displays. CHUCK-IT, the recycling mascot, targets children between the ages of 5 and 12 and is the latest addition to the "Win the War Against Waste" tool kit.

Each base will also have the opportunity to print and manufacture magnets and stickers for their use and distribution which can be customized with installation POC information.  Four different awareness articles covering subjects on America Recycles Day, Styrofoam recycling, "greening" your events and composting are included for publication through base news media outlets.
