Colonel ERIC S. FAJARDO

Colonel Fajardo is the Vice Commander, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. In this position, he assists the commander in leading a 2,200-person primary subordinate unit, responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and readiness and emergency management. The unit conducts its operations at more than 75 locations world.

Colonel Fajardo entered the Air Force in 1996 after obtaining his commission through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona. He has served in a variety of assignments at the base, numbered air force, major command, and combatant command levels. He has deployed in support of Operations UNIFIED ASSISTANCE, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM, and the Global War on Terrorism. His commands include three civil engineer squadrons and a mission support group.

Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Fajardo was the Director of Planning and Integration, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, Texas.
