Colonel JEREMIAH J. HAMMILL

Col. Jeremiah J. Hammill is the Director of Readiness at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. He leads a team of 285 personnel providing readiness expertise for 59,000 Air Force Civil Engineer Airmen worldwide. He provides functional management for the RED HORSE, Prime BEEF, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Fire and Emergency Services, and Emergency Management programs for the U.S. Air Force. He provides oversight for the $6 billion Air Force Contract Augmentation Program supporting contingency and home station surge capability for installations worldwide. He also guides $60 million in Civil Engineer research, development, and acquisition programs to procure systems, equipment, technology, and data to fulfill expeditionary and in-garrison air base requirements.

Col. Hammill grew up in Fort Jackson, N.Y., and received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Program at Clarkson University in December 2000. An active duty officer of 24 years, Col. Hammill commanded the 821st Support Squadron at Thule Air Base, Greenland, the 611th Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and the 96th Civil Engineer Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. His contingency experience includes two deployments to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, El Salvador for New Horizons, Baghdad, Iraq as the Task Force Engineer for Detainee Operations, and Kabul, Afghanistan as an Afghanistan-Pakistan Hand assigned to the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Prior to his current position, the colonel was the Civil Engineer, Studies, Analyses, Assessments, and Lessons Learned Directorate, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
