Register by Jan. 7 for AFCEC Industry Day Published Dec. 18, 2012 By Air Force Civil Engineer Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Officials at the newly established Air Force Civil Engineer Center, a field operating agency of the Air Force Civil Engineer, are planning the organization's first Industry Day Jan. 15 in San Antonio. The industry day is a way for military and industry leaders to discuss public-private collaboration opportunities to help meet the Air Force's civil engineering needs. This event will take place in San Antonio's Crowne Plaza River Walk Hotel, 111 East Pecan Street, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. The program runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. with a break for lunch. The purpose of this forum is to provide industry an opportunity to learn about AFCEC's mission and vision, discover the contract tools and acquisition policies utilized by AFCEC, hear from each directorate within the agency about its fiscal 2013 and beyond forecast as well as some of the unique challenges and opportunities faced. The AFCEC Industry Day will end with a question-and-answer period with a panel of division representatives addressing comment cards submitted by industry participants during the day. The Air Force Civil Engineer Center, headquartered here, is a 1,600-person civil engineer field operating agency responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, readiness, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition and program management. The unit conducts its operations at more than 75 locations worldwide.
