Water management
LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Edwards Aquifer Authority Senior Education Coordinator Brent Doty demonstrates how the aquifer works to an Air Force audience April 17 as part of Earth Day 2012 "Green Week" activities in Bldg. 171. The Edwards Aquifer, one of the most prolific artesian aquifiers in the world, is a unique groundwater system near San Antonio, America's seventh largest city. Doty's presentation focused on how the aquifer works, how the area's water source can be polluted and why restrictions are important to the successful management of the water system. The presentation was among several events hosted by the Air Force Real Property Agency and the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment from April 12 - 22 in support of Earth Day and environmental awareness.
