AFCEE director to take post in Ohio Published Sept. 5, 2012 By AFCEE Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- The Air Force announced Aug. 23 the director of the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment has been selected to become the director of Communications, Installations and Mission Support at Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Terry Edwards has led AFCEE since October 2010 and will assume his new position early this fall. Before becoming AFCEE director, he held a variety of environmental and military construction positions at the center dating back to late 1991, shortly after the unit first stood up as the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence. During his tenure as AFCEE's director, Edwards led the field operating agency to an "Excellent" rating during an Air Force Inspector General Unit Compliance Inspection in March 2011. More recently, he has postured the unit for its merger with the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency and Air Force Real Property Agency to form a single CE FOA called the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, which begins operations Oct. 1.
