Bldg. 171 recognized for supporting Hispanic Contractors Association’s mission Published Aug. 10, 2011 By Robert Ginsberg AFCEE Capital Investment Execution Division SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Building 171 and the organizations that reside there were recognized by the Hispanic Contractors Association de San Antonio July 20 during its second annual Excellence Through Diversity Awards Gala at the Scottish Rite Banquet Center here. Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment project manager Roby Gregg and contract specialist Roy Rainey of the Air Force's 772nd Enterprise Sourcing Squadron Military Construction Section accepted an Owner of the Year Award during the event on behalf of their organizations, in recognition of the Bldg. 171 construction project at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The award specifically recognizes the owners of construction projects costing between $5 and $10 million, which contribute to the HCA's mission in advancing the small-, minority- and women-owned contracting community. "It was a privilege to contribute to the Bldg. 171 project knowing that the new facility would benefit small-, minority- and women-owned contractors and create growth opportunities supporting a diverse contractor workforce," said Gregg. Established in 1999, the HCA de San Antonio is a non-profit organization that develops educational and training programs and facilitates the resources needed to support their local members in reaching their highest potential.
