LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Center, Jessie Salinas, chief of Lackland AFB's recycling center, tests the recycling knowlege of attendees during the San Antonio Armed Forces 2011 Earth Day Kickoff Expo March 31 in Port San Antonio's Bldg. 171. During the event, the more than 2,500 Air Force occupants of the building had the opportunity to gather information from more than 15 military and community organizations on Earth-minded initiatives such as recycling, growing herb gardens and public transportation and van pooling. Attendees also had the opportunity to volunteer for community cleanup activities planned over the next few weeks. (Air Force photo by Debbie Aragon)
