Green Building Gets Gold Certificate at Former George AFB

It’s not easy to get a gold certificate even if you are a green building. But two such buildings at the former George Air Force Base both received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. “Distribution Centre 1,” a one-million-square-foot building (shown here), uses about half the energy of a conventionally built structure, saving about $275,000 annually.
