Wet-weather repair test

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Air Force Civil Engineer Center test engineer John Sprouse uses a Dynamic Cone Penetrometer to test the strength of rapid-setting flowable fill material used to repair a crater during an airfield damage repair wet-weather experiment here Aug. 14, 2013. The flowable fill acts as the foundation of the repair and must harden to support the asphalt cap layer. ADR experts conducted the wet-weather crater repair test to determine the effects rainwater could have on the process and materials used in an actual ADR scenario. (U.S. Air Force photo/Eddie Green)
