Alaska’s short summer construction window posed a challenge for the Air Force during a recent energy conservation investment project at Clear Air Force Station. With numerous agencies involved in the project — AFCEC, the base, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State of Alaska, construction contractors and the utility provider — coordination was key to staying on schedule and allowing the base to remain mission focused. Construction began in June 2014 and AFCEC successfully connected the base to the local power grid in December 2015. (Photo courtesy of U.S. Corps of Engineers)
