A Civil Engineer Maintenance Inspection and Repair Team, or CEMIRT, overhauled mobile aircraft arresting system unit was recently used to stop an F-35A Joint Strike Fighter during testing at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The MAAS was installed by the 820th Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineer Unit, or RED HORSE, from Nellis AFB, Nevada. CEMIRT overhauls MAAS to be reused in the field, providing substantial savings to the Air Force. (Courtesy photo/Chad Bellay/Lockheed Martin)
