Navy Participates in First Ever U.S. Held IUCN World Conservation Congress

Rear Adm. John W. Korka, commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific, demonstrates a compressed plastic disc created by shipboard waste processors during a U.S. Department of Defense conservation panel during the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Conservation Congress at the Hawaiian Convention Center in Honolulu, Sept. 5, 2016. IUCN is a membership Union uniquely composed of both government and civil society organizations. It provides public, private and non-governmental organizations with the knowledge and tools that enable human progress, economic development and nature conservation to take place together.
