Air Force and Village of Rantoul officials gather for a photo Oct. 25 following a ceremony to celebrate the complete transfer all land and assets contained within the former Chanute Air Force Base back to the community. All military operations at Chanute ceased in 1993 as part of a Base Realignment and Closure decision. During the past 30 years the Air Force has invested $200 million to prepare the land to be returned to the community. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Mollie Miller)
