Air Force and Village of Rantoul officials gather for a photo Oct. 25 following a ceremony to celebrate the complete transfer all land and assets contained within the former Chanute Air Force Base back to the community. All military operations at Chanute ceased in 1993 as part of a Base Realignment and Closure decision.
