    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center Airfield Pavement Evaluation team is helping keep runways worldwide ready to support the mission.The 21-member APE team at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, services more than 2 billion square feet of airfield pavement at more than 200 airfields around the globe.

  • APE ensures mission-ready airfields

    It takes a lot of pavement to launch an Air Force -- 2.2 billion square feet -- and in 2019, a Tyndall-based team of airfield engineers set a blistering pace to ensure that pavement was able to support aircraft worldwide in flying more than 1.2 million hours.

  • JBER firefighters help fight McKinley Fire

    Fifteen firefighters from the 673d Civil Engineer Squadron Fire and Emergency Services Flight and three firefighters from the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Wildland Support Module returned to JBER at approximately 10 p.m. Aug. 22, from assisting with efforts to suppress the McKinley Fire.
