The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is currently seeking a full-time General Engineer to work in its Engineering Directorate at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, near Albuquerque. 

This position is an NH-0801-03, has a typical 2020 salary range of $77,204 -$119,350

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a nuclear authorizing official and security controls assessor representative who assists the security controls assessor in the evaluation of security controls for Nuclear Weapon Information System or Platform Information Technology System.

Candidates should have a strong background in cybersecurity and familiarization with Risk Management Framework.  

DUTIES:
•    Performs multidisciplinary professional engineering work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace and/or other engineering disciplines to determine the business and technical needs of customers in the acquisition, development or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, support systems, equipment items or an equivalent product.
•    Works in engineering specialty area, which includes engineering/analysis in computer systems security engineering at the computer, Network and software level.  It also requires vulnerability analysis using digital analysis techniques and digital analysis methods, approaches and software, such as model-based engineering tools.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
•    U.S. CITIZENSHIP 
•    Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
•    In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
