With a variety of technologies at its disposal, the Air Force Civil Engineer Center, headquartered here, will hold a virtual world wide real property symposium, March 19 - 21.

Utilizing the Air Force Institute of Technology's satellite uplink to Air Force education centers, combined with video teleconferences to get the presenters "into" the filming studios at AFIT, allows the Air Force to conduct the training during current budget constraints.

This virtual training, specifically designed for base-level real property accountability officers, their representatives and supervisors, is designed to encourage the open discussion of strategies and trends. The training also allows participants to share real property best practices with a focus on training, through successive real property and related sessions.

Participation will be conducted through base education center satellite rooms.

"Budget cuts and changes in the way training and services has necessitated a major change in how training will be delivered to staff, driving the development of an innovative virtual symposium within the real property area of the Air Force Civil Engineer Center," said Diane Bailey, AFCEC Real Estate Transactions Division chief.

"There will be presentations from senior Air Force leadership, senior Air Force realty experts, hands-on instruction from experienced Air Force realty specialists and a number of open forums to discuss current and future Air Force realty processes," Bailey said.

This symposium targets Air Force realty specialists, real property officers and asset managers. Real property element supervisors, flight chiefs, quality assurance evaluators, functional area staff, resources flight chief, CE project management, military construction programmers, environmental specialists, CE flight supervisors, base civil engineers and their deputies may also benefit from attendance.

"This symposium will provide a forum for these real estate partners to collaborate with one another," said Bobby Roberts, AFCEC Real Estate Transactions Division western branch chief . "It also affords an opportunity to provide direction and feedback to ensure the Air Force real property program's continued improvement and success. The theme for this year's World Wide Real Property e-Symposium is "Advancing Real Property Excellence."

Without travel expenses being a factor, Roberts said staff that might have been unable to attend these sessions can choose sessions that are beneficial to their particular role.

There are no prerequisites and no restrictions on participation.
