Media Release: JB MDL seeks developer interest in energy generation Published Feb. 26, 2013 By Air Force Civil Engineer Center Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- With New Jersey facing an increased need for energy production in the next 10 years, the Air Force is looking for developer interest in building energy generation facilities on about 500 acres of land located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. The Air Force Civil Engineer Center and JB MDL officials are hosting an Industry Day Forum on March 6, for parties interested in developing energy generation facilities of various technologies at JB MDL as part of the Air Force Enhanced Use Lease Program. The Air Force believes the potential exists to develop multiple energy generation projects on six parcels of land at JB MDL. These projects include, but are not limited to, geothermal, waste to energy, natural gas fired combined-cycle gas turbine, solar and co-generation hybrid facilities. The Industry Day Forum, which will take place at the Tommy B's Community Activities Center, 2705 East Arnold Ave., on JB MDL, will feature Air Force leadership discussing the specific development opportunities, the EUL program and processes, and proposal requirements. Attendees will also receive a tour of the available EUL sites as well as an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the draft Request for Qualifications previously issued in December 2012. To access the RFQ, go online to www.fbo.gov/ and search solicitation #AFCEC-13-R-0002. The Air Force Civil Engineer Center, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, manages the Air Force EUL Program through its Installations Center of Excellence, which helps installations optimize real property assets to achieve value for the Air Force through partnerships with private industry.
