The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency's Joint Base San Antonio operating location, responsible for managing and overseeing the Air Force Civil Engineer Center's Small Business Program, was recently recognized for reaching "beyond goals" to achieve small business success.

Led by Mary Urey, the office is part of the Enterprise Sourcing Group Small Business Office which earned the 2014 Secretary of the Air Force Small Business Director's Beyond Goals Award. The team is based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

This award recognizes professional achievement that exemplifies the objectives of the Secretary of the Air Force Small Business Programs, including initiative and innovation that results in small business contract awards in a field or enterprise previously not considered or perceived suitable for small businesses.

"The value of small business is measured by what small businesses contribute to the mission and priorities of the Air Force. To be recognized for the role we play in the market research efforts is huge to us. I could not be any prouder of this team of small business advocates and working with them day in and day out is a privilege," Urey said.
