AF biologists observe, protect sea turtle nests

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Biologists here escavate a sea turtle nest on the beach front there to help protect the eggs from predatory animals or human interference. Once the excavation is complete, the eggs, which are protected under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, are moved to a different location on the beach front to give the hatchlings a better chance of survival as they migrate from the nest to the coastal waters.
