JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – The Air Force Civil Engineer Center’s Category Management and Strategic Acquisition Branch and Jeffrey Warnecke will represent Air Force Materiel Command as nominees for team and individual Defense Acquisition Workforce Awards.

The CBML team executes strategic acquisition actions, leveraging enterprise-wide contracts to improve processes and systems concerning facilities sustainment, restoration, modernization and construction. Asked about the impact of the award, the team highlighted visibility.
“Receiving a SAF-level award – or even just being nominated at the MAJCOM level – raises the visibility of our program,” Thrash said. “It helps to validate what we do for our stakeholders.”
Individual Achievement Award - Requirement Management
Jeffrey Warnecke, an AFCEC capability requirements analyst will compete for the Requirement Management Individual Achievement Award. Warnecke’s skill in requirements analysis and planning is evident with his ability to define and prioritize future CE capabilities across unmanned systems, explosive ordnance disposal and additive manufacturing portfolios.
Warnecke credits the Air Force civil engineer community and the teamwork he has experienced along the way for his nomination.
“I'm honored to have the opportunity to represent AFCEC and compete for a SAF-Level award after dedicating 36 years of my career to the Air Force Civil Engineer mission,” Warnecke said. “This nomination is deeply meaningful to me as it validates decades of commitment to maintaining the critical infrastructure and supporting the CE Warfighter that enables our Air Force to accomplish its mission.”
