LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Sarah Baine, Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment, watches as a volunteer signs up for one of four community project taking place over the next few weeks during the San Antonio Armed Forces 2011 Earth Day Kickoff Expo March 31 in Port San Antonio's Bldg. 171. During the event, the more than 2,500 Air Force occupants of the building also had the opportunity to gather information from more than 15 military and community organizations on Earth-minded initiatives such as recycling, growing herb gardens and public transportation and van pooling.
