Air Force Earth Day

Earth Day Toolkit

Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, was founded in 1970 by U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin. It is the largest secular observance in the world, celebrated by more than a billion people every year.

This year we also celebrate the Air Force's 70th anniversary -- "Breaking Barriers Since 1947." Its key themes of innovation, teamwork and heritage are relevant to how the Air Force conducts its mission while protecting and sustaining the environment.

Make this year's celebration a day of action! Check out our toolkit and our spotlight stories for ideas on how you can make a difference on your installation.
