BBC documentary James May on the Moon
Lt. Col. John Gibbons, Flight Surgeon with the Air Force Research Laboratory, monitors the vital signs of James May, Presenter with the BBC, from the AFRL Centrifuge control room during production of a documentary by BBC, which commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, the first to put a man on the Moon. May was spun to several Gs in the AFRL Centrifuge at Brooks City-Base, TX. His experience allowed him to be more familiar with the experiences of Apollo 11 Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., during the initial phase of launch which entered orbit of the Earth 12 minutes after takeoff. (US Air Force photo/Steve Thurow)
