Former Chanute AFB Public Meeting

April 30, 2024 - 7 p.m. at Rantoul Village Hall, Board Room, 333 South Tanner Street, Rantoul, IL 61866

The Department of the Air Force (DAF) is hosting a public meeting to update the community of per- and polyfluoralkyl substances (PFAS) actions at the former Chanute Air Force Base. DAF representatives will provide an overview and answer questions regarding the DAF response to PFAS and the upcoming Remedial Investigation (RI) at the former Chanute AFB. The RI process aims to identify the nature and extent of PFAS contamination and assess its risk to human health and the environment.
